Converge is a summer camp that exists to glorify God by making students into growing disciples of Jesus Christ.
We preach the authority of God’s word without apology, we exalt the name of Jesus above every other name, we believe firmly in the power of prayer, and we share the good news of the Gospel with boldness. All along the way, we have found that ridiculous amounts of fun through humor, games, and quality time are relational goldmines.
In our four years, we have given ourselves to pursuing the means of grace that God has supplied. Not clever tricks or gimmicks, but simply the Gospel preached and Christ exalted. In this pursuit we have seen dozens of students confess Christ as Lord for the first time and scores of others experience radical growth in their spiritual lives.
As the summer of 2014 approached, Daniel Seymore (one of the pastors at Harvest Bible Church) had a dream and a desire for the students of his church to be part of a summer camp where God worked in dramatic ways through the preaching of His Word and the exaltation of His Son. Being new to his position, he was naive enough, courageous enough, and trusting God enough to endeavor to create a camp just like this. A coalition of churches from all over the southwest (North Phoenix, East Valley, Flagstaff, Sacramento, Ventura, Denver, Albuquerque, etc) met at Forest Home Ojai Valley and launched a camp called Uncommon.
After 3 years of seeing the Lord save students and build our group beyond the capacity of Forest Home, we began to look for a new facility to host us, and dream bigger about what God could do through this camp.
Our search for a facility has led us to a camp called Glorieta, just outside Sante Fe, New Mexico. It was created in 1949 as the Lifeway Glorieta Conference Center, and it sits on 2400 acres of beautiful pine-tree covered mountains. It is bursting to the brim with fun and exciting things to do (ziplines, rappelling, drift trikes, blobs, and more) and it can host thousands of students at one time.
In 2017, we moved our camp to Glorieta and named it “Converge”. It was our best year yet. With all this is mind, we believe that the best is still to come for this summer camp. We want to see God extend the glory of his name through the making of students into growing disciples of Christ. If you are part of a local church in the southwest, if you are a family looking for a place to send your student to camp, if you are a student yourself, Converge 2018 is for you. We can't wait to partner with you for the sake of the Gospel.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The safety of students at Converge is our top priority. If students are not safe, they are not in an environment where spiritual growth can happen, and that's what we're after. As a group of churches, we are bringing a ratio of 1 adult leader to every 9 students. On top of that, Glorieta has 40 staff people dedicated to our section of the camp. Every adult attending Converge has been background checked and completed an extensive sexual abuse awareness and prevention training. Boys and girls stay in separate buildings on separate sides of camp and are under constant adult supervision.
Each year that we have gathered for this summer camp, we have seen God move in supernatural ways. We have found that when we get away from the noise and distraction of everyday life and set aside time to meet with God through the means he has provided – he always shows up. We spend significant time, energy, and prayer in the planning and execution of times of worship, preaching from God's word, and devotional/small group content for students to work through. We anticipate and eagerly expect God to show up through these avenues.
Morning: After breakfast and a brief time of worship, students will spend time alone with the Lord in devotional material that has been prepared for them.
Afternoon: After playing some massive games and enjoying lunch, there is a block of free time that allows students to take advantage of the incredible facilities.
Evening: The centerpiece of our day comes after dinner when we have an extended time of worship & preaching, followed by small groups that seek to apply what we're learning to life.
CAMP SPEAKER - Ryan Huguley
Pastor Ryan has been blessed to serve in a number of diverse churches and roles, but his richest ministry experience has come from church planting. After joining a core group in 2001, his heart came alive to see new churches planted. In 2005, Ryan and Tami planted Redemption Bible Church with a few friends in the suburbs of Chicago.
After a brief season serving as a senior pastor in North Carolina, the Huguleys began to sense a call to plant again. In the fall of 2017, they arrived in Salt Lake and immediately got to work starting Ridgeline Church in the Salt Lake valley.
He is excited to serve the students of Converge by teaching God's Word.
